Oliver Dürr is a Professor of Data Science at the HTWG Konstanz. He holds a PhD in Physics and draws on over ten years of industrial experience. From 2003 to 2012, he worked in bioinformatics and machine learning at Genedata in Basel. In 2012, he transitioned back to academia, where he focused on bridging the gap between statistical methodology and the emerging field of Deep Learning.
Prof. Dr. Dürr is an expert in Probabilistic Deep Learning. His research integrates statistical methods and causality into AI to develop systems that are not only robust but capable of reasoning about the effects of interventions.
In 2024, Prof. Dr. Dürr joined TIDIT as co-director and currently co-leads the Probabilistic AI (PAIR) research group.
