Michael Grossniklaus is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Konstanz. He studied computer science at ETH Zürich, where he graduated in 2001 and received his doctorate in 2007. Since 2013, he heads the Database and Information Systems research group at the University of Konstanz. Since 2022, he has been the Scientific Co-Lead of the Advanced Data and Information Literacy Track, which aims to increase and enhance data and information literacy for students of all disciplines at the University of Konstanz.
Prof. Dr. Grossniklaus is an expert in database systems, query optimization, graph databases, and data streams. His research aims at developing innovative database technologies to support novel and emerging application domains. His current research focuses on the design and development of query optimization techniques in database and data stream systems. In 2024, Prof. Dr. Grossniklaus joined TIDIT as co-director and currently co-leads the Data Systems research group.
